Solution Quartz is one of the rarest and most desired quartz in the world. These “Investment Pieces'' come from only 3 regions in the world, with central Arkansas being the most sought after inventory. Each formation includes hundreds of individual terminations created from the mineral crystallization while freestanding in Silica enriched clay called rectorite. Because the crystals grow freestanding they crystallize in many different directions creating multiple terminations that overlap and form in groups called jackstraws, which are not attached to a matrix. These groups are formed in solution rather than deposited onto host rock. This creates some of the most unique and beautiful formations of quartz known to man. Since the closing of the Arkansas’ Jeffery Mine in the 1970’s, there is only one active mine in the US, making Arkansas Solution Quartz extremely rare and a centerpiece for collectors of precious minerals and gemstones.
